Mary Parsons

Louise Allison Parsons,age 98 of Arkadelphia, AR, born Oct. 14, 1919, passed from this life to her Heavenly Home Dec. 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ford M. Parsons; her parents, Charles H. and Ellen Allison; 2 brothers, Woodrow Allison and Frank Allison; 3 sisters, Gladys Ross, Evelyn Langston, and Hazel Leamons.
Left to cherish her memory is a son, Dr. Greg Parsons (Dorothy), of Jacksonville, TX; a daughter, Becky Ward (Doug), of Hot Springs, AR; 10 grandchildren: Shane Mauldin, John Mark Parsons, Tim Parsons, Phil Parsons, Sarah Fruge, Luke Parsons, Susanna Mahoney, Mary Tew, Rachel Priest, and Bekah Choppy; and 7 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Trenton, and Cameron Mauldin; Maddie Parsons; Ryan and Drew Fruge, and Savannah Tew. She has a cousin, Kathryn Rhodes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parsons loved her church family at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Arkadelphia, where she loved to sing in the choir; share meals she cooked; and help fold the bulletins. She was definitely a woman of prayer for family and friends. She was a seamstress and loved gardening.
She attended the University of Arkansas, then worked at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., as a stenographer, prior to being married to Ford Parsons in 1947.
Mrs. Parsons was a retired library secretary from Henderson State University. She passed on her love for reading and books to many relatives and students. Memorial gifts may be sent to Henderson State University Library Fund, Arkadelphia, AR 71999, or BMA Seminary Library Fund, P.O. Box 670, Jacksonville, TX 75766.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 2pm on Friday, and funeral will be Friday, Jan 5, 2018, at 2pm, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphia, with burial at DeRoche Cemetery, Bismarck. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Krisell and her son Greg Parsons. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
