Mary Pence Parsons of Arkadelphia, Arkansas died October 27, 2012. She was born September 1, 1915 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Hugh and Bessie Martin Pence. She graduated from Conway High School in 1932, obtained her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland in 1936, where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She received her master's degree from Henderson State University in 1975.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Vollie Earl Parsons Jr.; two brothers; one sister and her grandson, Richard Pooler.
She is survived by her children, Penny Parsons Stubbs and her husband, Steve Stubbs of Lowell, North Carolina, Lt. Cmdr. Hugh Pence Parsons (U. S. Navy retired) and his wife, Susan Parsons of San Diego, California, and Patrick Parsons of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her grandson, Andrew Parsons and his wife, Alyssa Parsons of Little Rock, Arkansas, her granddaughter, Melissa Parsons Scheeline and her husband, Joseph Scheeline of Corte Madre, California and four great-grandchildren.
As per her wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Clark County Humane Society, 627 Walnut St. Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
