Mary Alecia Ready passed away at the age of 76 on February 13, 2009. Born in Elmira, New York to Chester D. and Alecia D. Deuel, she graduated from Elmira Southside High School and Elmira College. A dedicated worker, Mary was employed for many years in Little Rock by Worthen Bank and Nalco Chemical Company. Her poems brightened others' days with her creative ability in Ready Rhymes.
Mary will be remembered and missed by her beloved husband of 53 years, Charlie; daughters, Marianne Barr (John) and Michelle Ready; grandchildren, Katie, Eileen, Mary and Blake Barr of Haddonfield, New Jersey and Colin and Meghan Ready of Alexander, Arkansas; her sister, Elizabeth Brosius of Florida; dearest friends, Margie Knowles and Bub and Peggy Jones and numerous other friends and neighbors. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and John.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Hospice Home Care on Bowman Road for their kindness and caring.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Royce Thomas.
