Libby Schulze, age 91, of Conway passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. Ms. Schulze was born in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the Lake, Robert Guy “Sam”Wyatt, and Iva Nugent Wyatt.
Ms. Schulze completed her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff high school, and she was employed at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for several years. She then worked for the Social Security Administration, where she was a claims representative for 35 year. She was passionate about making sure her claimants received all the help they could qualify for, and she went above and beyond to ensure every box was checked. Every “t” was crossed and every “i” was dotted. Her attention to detail was always unmatched.
She was a caregiver many times in her life and always made sure that the people she took care of had the best of everything - Her time was centered around taking care of others and true service until the very end of her life. She donated to many causes in an effort to help where she could. Some examples of her philanthropy include Feed the Children , Mercy Ships, ASPCA, Tunnel to Towers, the Heifer Project, Boy Scouts and many more. As a result of her civic mindedness, she received a ton of mail every day so she created a post office to process it all. She loved this country most of all and was very politically active. Her “I Voted”stickers line the trim around her closet door, and she always looked forward to elections.
Libby was married for over 30 years to Mr. Williams H Bill Schulze , and they shared a life filled with joyful projects and family focused interest. They were caregivers, babysitters, and “the” place to gather for special occasions. Mr. Schulze passed in 2018 and Libby has been able to live independently since that time, but she always missed him. She rescued a cat named him Domino, and they lived happily ever after. He is 14ish and going to a brand new home.
Libby had lifelong friendships and wonderful, caring and supportive neighbors. She was fiercely independent and an inspiration to all. Libby was also a gracious hostess. She became pretty famous for her desserts, and especially for her oh-so-addictive pretzel recipe. Always a hit at every party, she created a little “factory” in her kitchen for mass production. What a firecracker she was!
Libby was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Mr. Bill Schulze, one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Smith of Conway, Arkansas; along with four brothers, Roger “Dale” Wyatt, Samuel “Sammy” Wyatt, Robert “Buddy” Wyatt and Herbert Wyatt; three sisters, Margaret “Margie” Wyatt Blythe, Ruby Wyatt Campbell, and Nancy Wyatt.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Curiel of Conway, Arkansas, and a sister Shirley Wyatt VanderWal of Katy, Texas; two stepsons - Gerry Schulze (Helena) and William H. Schulze Jr., along with many grandchildren, great grands, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Forrest Hills Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas.
The family would like to recognize the outstanding care Libby received from the healthcare facilities, Conway regional and from Superior Rehab. Gentiva was called to help in the final days and they were incredible to witness and to work with. We are eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
In the end her, wings were ready, but we were not. It has been a privilege and an honor to have enjoyed her company. She was a great friend to all who knew her, and she will be missed every day.
