Mary Walker

Mary J. Walker, age 93, passed away Wednesday September 22, 2021.  She was born on October 12, 1927, to the late Luna Albert Francis and Amanda Izora (Thomason) Francis in the Fendley Community in Clark County.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Walker; son, Jimmy Burress; stillborn daughter, Meredith Burress; one brother, Ira Francis; and two sisters, Audie Buck, and Vernell Holder.

Mary was a longtime resident of Arkadelphia and worked at Hollywood Vassarette for 33 years.  She treasured her time as a Grandparent in the Perritt Elementary School until her late 80’s.  Mary was a master seamstress and many people benefited from her joy of piece quilting.  The family has fond memories playing Skip-bo and enjoying time together.

Mary is survived by granddaughter, Angela Laliberte of Arkadelphia; three nephews, James holder of Kilgore, TX, Troy Buck of Alpine, and Jerry Buck and wife Betty of Alpine; and daughter-in-law, Cyndia Dunne of Arkadelphia.

Funeral service will be 10 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.  Burial to follow at Alpine Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday, September 24, 2021, at the funeral home.
