Master Sergeant USAF Retired Bonnie Bright

Master Sergeant USAF Retired Bonnie Bright, age 72, of Glenwood, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022.

 

She was born on June 22, 1949, in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Chester and Merril Sadowski. On August 14, 1971, she was married to the love of her life, Jimmie C. Bright, also of the United States Air Force.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Daniel Sadowski.

 

Bonnie served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years until her retirement. While in the Air Force, Bonnie earned the honor of Master Sergeant. She was Methodist in her faith and enjoyed bass fishing, all sports, traveling the world with her husband, scuba diving, and became an excellent underwater photographer.  

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie C. Bright of Glenwood; her stepdaughter, Melinda Slunder and her husband, Gary, of Glenwood; her stepson, Grover Bright and his wife, Peggy, of Mount Carmel, Illinois; several grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

As General McArthur’s famous last words state, “Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.”   

 

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
