Matthew Rall Hesen, Sr., 83, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010. Born in Fairport, Iowa to Herman O. Hesen, Sr. and Paulina Finotti Hesen, he was a U.S. Navy Seabee during World War II and worked in quality control for Kinney Shoes for many years. He did volunteer work at St. Vincent's Infirmary and at St. Edward's Catholic Church where he was a long-time parishioner.
Preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Hesen, he is survived by his children, Matthew Cramer of CA, Pattimarie Janssen of SC, Peggy Collins of NC, Emily Gower of WA, Nadine Scuncio of GA, Kristy Wilkins of CO, Maria Ines Pinzon of FL, and Matthew Rall Hesen, Jr. of Benton, AR; brothers, Herman O. Hesen, Jr. and Joseph W. Hesen, both of KY; sister, Sue Berol-Brown of CA; twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and the best Dad in the world and will be missed greatly by his family.
The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 801 Sherman Street, Little Rock, AR 72202, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Ejimofor. Burial will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. The family will greet friends July 1, from 5:00 p.m. until the Rosary service at 7:00 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock.
