Mattie "Betty" Robertson

March 15, 1925 — September 11, 2017

Mattie "Betty" Robertson, age 92, of Alpine, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. She was born on March 15, 1925 in Daughty, Oklahoma, the daughter of Rosco Cassell and Bertha Virginia Brown Cassell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Thomas Alton Robertson, Sr. on July 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Alton Robertson, Jr.; her grandson, Michael Robertson; her brother, William R. Cassell; her sister, Bertha Burns; her brother-in-law, Albert Burns; her brother-in-law, Ford Robertson; her sister-in law, Ida Faye Robertson; and her nephew, Jackie Robertson. During World War II, she found herself working in the shipyards in Houston, Texas where she would meet her husband, Thomas. After moving to Arkansas, she worked at Levi Strauss in Arkadelphia and later for the Arkansas Forestry Commission. Being a farmers wife, she also worked side by side with Thomas at Robertson Egg Farm. She was a charter member of the Alpine Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Joe and Steva Robertson of Alpine; her daughter-in-law, Thelma Pittman Robertson of Benton; her grandchildren, Steven Anthony Stone, Timothy John Robertson, Missy Robertson Bullard and her husband, Jay, Laurie Robertson Jester and her husband, Mike, Holly Robertson Bunner and her husband, Randy, and Christopher Warren Robertson; her great-grandchildren, Arabella Bunner, Julia Bullard, Tyler Massey, Evan Bledsoe, Dylan Bullard, Andrew Massey, Katrina Bunner, Jay Bullard and his wife, Mercedes, Natascha Bunner, Bryan Massey, Annalyssa Tanner and her husband, Carter, Ryan Bullard and his wife, Dominique, and Brad Bullard; her great-great-grandchildren, Carolyne Bullard, Kameron Tanner, Ian Bullard, Kylie Tanner, Gabriella Bunner and R. J. Bullard; and her nephews and nieces, Jim and Pat Burns, Martha Robertson and Keith and Debbie Robertson. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017, in the Amity First Baptist Church with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Bryan Massey, Andrew Massey, Tyler Massey, Carter Tanner, Keith Robertson and Evan Bledsoe. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
