Maynard E. Vogelgesang

Maynard E. Vogelgesang, 81, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. He was born August 2, 1942, in Lincoln, NE, to Edward and Lucille Vogelgesang.

He is survived by son Tony (Connie) Vogelgesang of Little Rock; daughter Patti (Gerald) Wilson of Biscoe; sisters Arleta Power of Little Rock and Mary Lou Suitt of Maumelle; grandchildren Jennifer Sawyer of Des Arc, Claire Vogelgesang of Little Rock, and Gatlin Vogelgesang of Little Rock; great granddaughter Alaynna Johnson of Des Arc; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael Vogelgesang.

Maynard began his life of public service by serving in the US Army. He was later a North Little Rock police officer and finished his career as an Arkansas state employee. He enjoyed having breakfast with his friends and riding his Harley. He cared for his parents, his brother, his sisters, his children, and his friends and was always available when they needed him.

He will forever be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Funeral services for Maynard will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Smith North Little Rock Chapel with interment to follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
