Melanie Marie Rogers Reeves was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 18, 1975, to Richard Rogers and Lana Red Rogers Wiedower. She died on September 19, 2024, at the age of 48.
Melanie graduated from Bryant High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was employed at Alltel and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine.
On April 24, 2010, she married the love of her life, Bob Reeves. They were married until his untimely passing in 2015. Her love for Bob was extraordinary and continued until her passing. It is comforting to know that they are together once again.
Melanie’s wicked sense of humor brought our family so much love and laughter. She was so special, and the void her absence leaves is impossible to express. Melanie was as sensitive as she was funny. She loved fiercely and hated injustice in any form. She had a special love for animals and thought of her dog Max and then Frankie as her children. She will be missed always for these reasons and so many more.
Melanie was preceded in death by her husband Bob Reeves; father Richard Rogers; grandfathers Joe Red and Clinton Don Rogers; grandmother Joe Marie Jameson Rogers, and her beloved dog Max.
She is survived by her mother Lana Wiedower; brother Kiffin Rogers; grandmother Frances Red; aunts Cinda Baldwin and Melissa Norris (John); uncle Mel Rogers; her cousins Mo Starr, Cody Baldwin, Collin Norris, Alex Norris; great-aunt Joyce Moore; and her dog Frankie.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.
Donations can be made in her honor to the Humane Society or any animal rescue shelter or organization of your choice.
