Melmern Griffith

Melmern "Bead" Griffith, 90, of Vilonia, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 29, 2011. Mr. Griffith was a people person who never met a stranger. He liked to visit with family and friends and really liked a good game of dominoes. He was the oldest member of the Beryl Baptist Church in Vilonia.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Wanda; a son, Jimmy Griffith of Wasilla, Alaska; two daughters, Judy Rowlett and Janie Powell and husband Tony, both of Conway; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Bridges of Searcy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Addie Griffith; two brothers, Eugene and Bill Griffith; two sisters, Hazel Griffith and Stella Ramsey; and son-in-law Danny Rowlett.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Heritage Living Center for all the care shown to Mr. Griffith and his family.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at Beryl Baptist Church, with burial in Dunkard Cemetery.
