Melody Kay (Heimer) Hammer, 66, of Little Rock passed away April 15, 2017. Melody was born in Ada, Oklahoma to Richard (Dick) Talmadge Heimer and Bobbie Florine Cartwright Heimer.
She is survived by her husband, Martin K Hammer and her mother, of Texarkana, Arkansas. Melody's family moved to Little Rock in 1958. Being an only child, she was the center of their attention, and definitely a "daddy's girl." She was proud to have been Co-Captain of the Hi-Steppers of Little Rock Central High School her senior year in 1969. She graduated from UALR with a Bachelor Degree in Education and taught in the Little Rock School District for more than 20 years. She also worked in the children's after school program at St. James United Methodist Church and volunteered for many activities in the Church, where she was a member, and faithful attendee of the Saturday night service.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 20th with Reverend Sig Johnson officiating. Following the service, inurnment will be in the Columbarium at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, AR 72212 or Arkansas Children's Hospital of Little Rock.
