Melvin Delain Simpson, age 82 of Heber Springs, Arkansas, embarked on his Heavenly journey on July 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that will forever inspire his loved ones to live life to the fullest.

Born on September 17, 1942, in Piggot, Arkansas, to the late F.M. (Francis Marion) Simpson and Virgia Smart Simpson, Mel lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and a zest for life that motivated all who knew him.

As a proud Veteran, Mel served in the Army as a Sergeant, and later, he brought joy to car enthusiasts by painting Corvettes, including one for the legendary Dan Blocker from Bonanza, showcasing his remarkable talent. As a devoted family man, Mel built a successful business, Armature Service, which he operated for nearly 40 years, while nurturing his love for flying, golf, trout fishing, and restoring old tractors, demonstrating his incredible versatility. Mel's heart swelled with pride for his son Brad, grandchildren Wyite and Sadie, and his extended family, who will deeply miss him but will continue to draw inspiration from his remarkable life. Though he may be gone, Mel's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his love for life will remain a beacon of hope and optimism, motivating future generations to live their lives with purpose and passion.

Mel is survived by his son Brad Simpson and wife Holly of Conway, Arkansas, two grandchildren, Wyite Simpson and Sadie Simpson of Conway, Arkansas, his brother Larry Dean, and wife Donajo Simpson of Piggot, Arkansas, his sisters Alma Orr of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Sherry and husband Mike Gray of Jonesboro, Arkansas, a very dear and special niece and her family Kelly and husband Wayne Faulk, son Brett, wife Britany and their children Benjamin and Bethany Faulk of Forrest Hill, Louisiana, Tommy and Lorece Burgess of Conway, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory forever. As we celebrate Mel's life, we take comfort in knowing his legacy will continue to uplift and inspire us to live life to the fullest, embracing every moment with joy, love, and gratitude.
