Melvin "Sonny" Gildner, Jr.

Melvin "Sonny" Carl Gildner, Jr., Age 87, of Searcy, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024. He was born December 2, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin "Jiggs" and Helen (Miller) Gildner. 

Carl loved electronics and was self-employed working as a repair technician in TV, radio and sound since high school. His interests also included fishing and many woodworking projects.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Mel (Linda) and Chris (Beth); brother, Danny; ten grandchildren, Gil Gildner (Anya), Ellis Gildner, Leigh Anna Mylonas (Stephanos), Henry Gildner, Emma Gildner, Maggie Gildner, Catharine Gildner, Owen Gildner, Max Gildner and Helen Gildner.

A memorial service will be held at Sylvania Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 22 at 2:00. Cremation arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook
