Merlene Young

Merlene Young age 75, of Sparkman, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Camden. She was born January 3, 1947, to William Edgar and Coy Melissa Harkins McCaskill. Merlene and her late husband, Freddy Young owned and operated Young’s Sport and Marine in Arkadelphia for many years. Merlene was a bookkeeper and homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Freddy Young; her son, Joey Young; four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are a grandson, Joseph Young, many nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30^th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Rock Springs Cemetery near Sparkman with Bro. James Guthrie officiating.
