He cherished time spent with his friends and extended family. An avid photographer and storyteller, he enjoyed countless boat trips on the lake, family beach trips with his grandchildren in North Carolina, and quiet moments at home.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Ann, their daughter Deborah Liter (Michael), son Joel Boyd, grandchildren Simon Liter (Bailey), Ian Liter, Ashlyn Helmandollar (Josh), Lauryn Liter, newborn great-grandson, Easton Jones Liter, bonus grandson Jorge Contreras, beloved dog Auggie, and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
