Michael Carl Hill

Michael Carl Hill, born on March 10, 1942 in Sacramento, California, passed away on October 19, 2023. Michael was born a happy child. He always had a zest for life, and was known to have never met a stranger. He served in the Marine Corp right out of High School and was Honorably Discharged after 4 years of service. After serving his country, he went out to Pennsylvania to work on his family’s farm. After several years on the farm, he relocated back to Buffalo where he ultimately landed his career as an Industrial Sprinkler Fitter, which he worked until retirement. Later in his life, he was bestowed the honor of serving as Bishop for the Albany Three Lakes Ward, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, for a little over 7 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary of 56 years, Gene (son) and Becky Hill, Michael Gates (son-in-law) and Katharine Hill (daughter), Charles (son) and Gloria Hill, Mike and Jennifer (daughter) Hlavinka, Jacob Garcia (son-in-law) and Pamela Hill (daughter). Grandchildren: TJ Swartz, Kashina Hall, Jacob Gates, Alexandria Sosa, Jared Hill, Jade Hill, Owen Hill, Cody Hill, Daley Hess, Geddy Hess, Noah Hess, Farrah Hill-Garcia, Jason Hill-Garcia. Great-Grandchildren: Aidan Hill, Korbin Hall, Aniya Hall, Arwen Hall, Athena Gates, Adonis Gates, Penelope Sosa, Artemis Sosa, Iris Sosa and is presently in heaven playing ‘Wake Up Daddy / Grandpa” with the two new additions coming to our family this Spring, one to Jason Hill-Garcia & Lexy Ashdown and the other to Brenton Turner and Kashina Hall. Michael was an avid reader and had a passion for Genealogy. He loved his family deeply and will forever be etched into our hearts as the Patriarch of our family.

Funeral Service will be held on October 28, 2023 at 10:00 am, with the viewing beginning at 9:30 am. The service will also be available by Live Broadcast via link below:
