Michael Trey Simpson

Michael Trey Simpson, age 32, of Benton, received his heavenly call to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Michael was born on December 27, 1989, in Little Rock, to Randy and Donna Simpson.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lee Otis Simpson; his maternal grandfather, John Bour; his maternal grandmother, Irene Wilhite; and his aunt, Vicki Bour.

In Michael’s early years he enjoyed the thrill of all things involving high speed and specific skills such as BMX, motocross and go-kart racing.  Michael’s fondest achievement stemmed from his 2^nd degree black belt he earned in martial arts.  In addition to his love for thrill sports, he was also an avid gun collector and outdoor enthusiast.  Some of his greatest memories came from the many hours he spent tinkering on cars with his Dad, who he revered as his role model and his best friend.

Above all, Michael’s greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family and enjoying the many animals of which he shared a heartfelt bond.  He will forever be remembered as our quick witted, cheerful son, who could brighten a crowded room with his infectious smile.

Michael is survived by the love of his life, Peggy; daughter, Ashlyn; parents, Randy and Donna Simpson; brother, Steven Simpson; grandmother, Betty Simpson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

We will forever hold strong to --- Not if, but when we see you again.  We love you baby boy!

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, in the First Baptist Church in Mount Ida with Bro. Bill Ashburn officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Sheffield, Johnny Bour, Randy Bour, Marvin Bour, Bryan Bour and Taylor Elder.
