Dr. Michael Edward Soulsby, Sr., of Maumelle died July 7, 2015. He was born September 4, 1941 to the late Dr. Paul Clarence Soulsby and Reba Deane Burnette Soulsby.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Steelman Soulsby of Maumelle, three sons, Michael Soulsby, Jr., of Little Rock, Paul Soulsby (Cindy Soulsby) of Fayetteville and Sean Soulsby of Maumelle, siblings Gary Soulsby of Seattle WA and Ann Soulsby Wright of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren: Lindsay Soulsby, Austin Soulsby, Nicole Soulsby, Madison Soulsby, Collin Soulsby, and Courtney Soulsby; as well as a multitude of extended family members and friends.
Dr. Soulsby held a PH.D. Degree in Physiology and Biophysics from West Virginia University and was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the West Virginia School of Medicine; Public Health Service. He was a retired Associate Professor of Physiology and Biophysics at UAMS and a two time winner of the UAMS Golden Apple Award.
A celebration of Dr. Soulsby's life will be held at 2pm, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. On-line guest register and obit at www.smithfamily cares.com.
