Michael John Walker

Listen to Obituary

Michael John Walker, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on December 2, 1961, Mike dedicated over 40 years of his life as a production manager at Rubber & Gasket Company of America before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

Mike's personality shone through in all aspects of his life; he was known as a big joker and laid-back kind of guy. His sense of humor and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around. He had a profound affection for animals, especially his furry companions, Patches, Sierra, and Ace, who brought him immense joy and comfort.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was passionate about the great outdoors. He cherished the moments spent hunting, fishing, and camping, and he had a deep love for travel that allowed him to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife of over 30 years, Cathy Walker; his stepson, Brian Bellott (Nikki); his stepdaughter, Kristi Bellott (Rocky Muasau); his loving mother, Shirley Walker; and his cherished grandchildren: Allison, Seth, Brandon, Amber, Brianna, and Koda. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Carol Parker (Dan); his brother, Bill Walker (Sue); along with many other close family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Walker, his brother, Steve Walker, and his sister, Kim Brown. Their absence will be felt deeply as the family grieves the loss of Mike.

Visitation will be held on July 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith Benton Funeral Home, located at 322 N Market St. in Benton, Arkansas. The burial will take place at Rosemont Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Bro. Dennis Mitchell of Vimy Ridge Church which will also provide a meal following the conclusion of all services. All are welcome!

The family kindly asks that you honor his laid-back spirit by coming just as you are—jeans and t-shirts are welcome. There’s no need to dress up; casual attire is encouraged as we celebrate his life in the way he lived it: relaxed and easygoing.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to any animal rescue organization of your choice, in honor of his deep love for animals.

As we remember Michael John Walker, let us honor his spirit, his laughter, and the loving relationships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy will live on in the stories shared and the hearts he touched.
