Mickey Lee Hargett, 77, of Little Rock, Arkansas, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 16, 2026. He was born on July 18,1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late C.L. and Edith Hargett. Mickey lived a life marked by dedication to his Lord, his family, and his church.
Mickey was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1966, where he was named “Best Personality.” Mickey’s love for others, wonderful sense of humor, and love for the Lord made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He pursued higher education at the University of Central Arkansas before earning his degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, setting a strong foundation for his professional life. From 1970 to 1974, he served his country in the United States Army Reserve. During this time, an exchange of heartfelt letters between he and Lynn led to the start of their loving relationship. They married in 1971, which was the beginning of a 55-year marriage, and enjoyed many years of loving commitment and unwavering devotion to each other and their two children.
Mickey’s career was distinguished by over 35 years in the industrial paint sales field, where his honesty and dedication earned him respect and success. In 2000, he began a new chapter by opening Hargett Auto Sales in Bryant. This allowed him to merge his love for cars with his love for people. He always prayed with them at the end of every sale. After retiring in 2012, Mickey was able to enjoy his family and many hobbies, which included golfing, fishing, and gardening. One of his greatest joys was introducing his grandchildren to fishing and golf.
A talented golfer, Mickey won the Masters Division at the Maumelle Classic in 2020. He found joy in trout fishing on the White River with his family and treasured annual family trips to Florida. Mickey also loved gardening and growing vegetables to share with his family and friends. He was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for over five decades. Mickey served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years, touching the lives of many, especially among young adults and singles.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife Lynn, his children Matt Hargett (Jennifer) and Kristin Duke (Anton), and his grandchildren Caroline and Joshua Duke, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind his sister Barbara Hurley, brother Joe Hargett (Janet), and a host of nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Edith Hargett, and his brother-in-law Gerald Hurley.
A visitation will be held at 9:30 AM with a service beginning at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church (12400 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR.). Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home or Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
Mickey’s legacy is one of kindness, dedication, love and faithfulness. His presence and caring heart brought light and laughter into the lives of many, and his unwavering commitment to the Lord and his family will long be remembered.
