Mickey Smith, 72, of Arkadelphia went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018. He was born on July 16, 1945 in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Ruth Joslin Smith; brothers Carl, RV, Pete, Earl, and Freddy and sisters Darnelle, Annielee, Bobby Jean, and Barbara Ann.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda Ruth Rollins Smith, son Jeffrey and Teresa Smith, son Randy Smith, and daughter Jan and Stan Hayden. Seven grandchildren, Danielle and Zane Smith, Carah, Cody, and Cory Smith, Alexa and Saul Hayden; two brothers Vance Jr. and Smokey Smith; two sisters Ruth Fulmer and Lois Kinard and a host of nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1962 and married his high school sweetheart, Linda, the same year. He attended Henderson State University.
Mickey was a retired pipefitter and welder at Union Local 454. He was a former 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
He grew up attending the First Assembly of God Church and was baptized in 1980. He was a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church. Mickey loved the Lord and tried to live as a testament to Christ.
Mickey touched many people throughout his life and was "Pappaw" to many children. He was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, January 6, at 2:30 pm at Trinity Temple Assembly of God in Arkadelphia. Burial will be at Smyrna Cemetery in Okolona. Reverend Rick Mays will officiate and Pallbearers will be sons Jeffrey and Randy, son-in-law Stan, grandsons Cody, Cory, Saul, and Zane, and nephew Freddy.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church or to any children's charity.
