Mildred Evelyn Meimerstorf Burgess of Little Rock passed away on February 20, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas after a brief illness. She made the Lodge at Presbyterian Village her home for the past 9 years where she enjoyed friendships with other residents and the caring staff.
She was born on June 24, 1925, in Dardanelle, Arkansas, to Louis F. and Eula Yendrek Meimerstorf.
Mildred graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1943. She attended Capitol City Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas and was a bookkeeper for Little Rock Packing Company before her retirement.
Mildred married Carle G. Burgess on June 8, 1948, at Little Rock’s First Lutheran Church. Mildred and Carle were long-time and faithful members of Grace Lutheran Church in Little Rock. She was a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and served as an assistant to the church Treasurer.
Mildred is survived by many extended family members, including special nieces, Carol Meimerstorf, Phyllis Scurlock, Tamey Craig, Virginia Burgess, and a nephew, Mickey Meimerstorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Carle G. Burgess, two brothers, Louis Erwin Meimerstorf and William Lee Meimerstorf, niece Mary Ann Polnick and nephew Jim Meimerstorf.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock, Arkansas. Reverend David Buchs, Grace Lutheran Church will officiate.
