Mildred Lee Cox, 89, of Lonoke passed away Friday, February 3, 2017. She was born February 8, 1927 in Self Creek,Arkansas to the late Leamon and Cora Revan Turner. She was a long-standing member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Clark (Richard) of North Little Rock and Patti Hayes, of Lonoke; son, Gary Cox, of Lonoke; sister, TommyE Hinds, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Harmond Dotson Cox; 2 infant sons Larry Dodson Cox and Jerry Franklin Cox; daughter Delores Diane Jordan;parents, Leamon and Cora Turner; sister, Melba Ledbetter; brother, Derrell Turner and two great-grandchildren, Candace and Turner Simmons.
Her greatest love was for her Lord and her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and artist as well as many other crafts. She was loved and respected by all who had the honor of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 10th at Smith - Sherwood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday at Little Rock National Cemetery. Luncheon will be served at Park Hill Baptist Church; 201 East C. Street in North Little Rock following the graveside service.
