Mildred Snider

Mildred Athelene Watson McGraw Snider, 91, of Little Rock was born to the late Waverly and Irene Watson on January 17, 1926 and passed peacefully away in her sleep on Thursday, April 27, 2017 and joined her brothers W.L. and James in Heaven. She leaves behind a treasure trove of wonderful memories to be cherished by her daughters Barbara Moon of Maumelle and Brenda Mitchell of Madisonville, LA; her sisters Jeanette Pigg of Bastrop, TX, Joanne Douglass of Little Rock, and Mary Williams of Utah; her grandchildren Stephanie Jacobsen (Greg) of Spring, TX, Jim Tucker (Trina) of Madisonville, LA, Ashley Aud of Maumelle, Shannon Bishop (Don) of Mabelvale, and Trey Glass of North Little Rock; her great grandchildren Jessie Tucker, Hayden Aud, Lindsey Jacobsen, Lauren Jacobsen, Caden Tucker, Olivia Aud, Johnnie Bishop, Avie Bishop, a great great grandchild whose arrival she was eagerly awaiting, and Benson Cashion who she loved like a son.

She was extraordinary. She had a pilot's license when a lot of women didn't drive, she stood on a beach in Havana. For years she made yeast rolls from scratch every single day for dinner. She used Neutragena Glycerin soap in the 1970s when that was unheard of. She had the only pink corner tub in Jacksonville and then again in Little Rock. When we came to visit she took us to TG&Y, bought us everything we wanted and then made us promise to tell Papaw we brought it from home. She made the best hamburger I ever had. She was a terrible flirt. She kissed us all on the mouth, even the spouses. She said what she thought, even if it was to tell you you'd put on weight. She was more likely to be found playing poker with the men than hanging in the kitchen with the women. She couldn't keep a secret and would tell you what she got you for Christmas before you had a chance to open it. She took airport bottles of scotch to the cemetery instead of flowers. She climbed out of the window in typing class and ran off to get married. She buried two husbands and a man who had her heart. She loved the casinos. She loved Harlequin Romances and read 50 Shades of Grey on a Kindle. She started a Facebook page at 87. She lived a big life. At 90, she was disappointed that her body started to give out before she did all the things she wanted to do, but the truth is, she would never have been able to do all the things she wanted to do because she wanted to do and see EVERYTHING! She loved life! She loved the everyday living of it!

Her family is thankful for the love, care, and laughter the staff at Brookdale lavished on Millie over the past 2 years.

She loved us all fiercely and we will miss her forever.
