Mona Ann Swihart

Mona Ann Swihart, age 60, of Kirby, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

She was born on July 12, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was the daughter of Larry Alan Swihart and Ova Jean Fant. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Bill and Cora Fant; and her uncle, William "Bill" Fant.

Mona was Christian in her faith. For many years she worked for the Pike County Library and Banium Library where she loved serving her community. She loved giving to children, working for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and would host crafting and painting classes. She never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back. She also had a big heart for animals. Mona was a loving sister, aunt, and friend and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her siblings, Dawn Friedman, Richard Swihart, Debbie Cole, Melody Swihart, Sara Swihart, and Debbie Goodyear; and her many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Riley Swihart, Nasha Friedman, William Swihart, Timothy Swihart, and Allesha Hull. 

A Celebration of Mona's Life will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
