Morris Walton James, Jr., devoted husband, father, great-grandfather, and respected member of his community, passed away on March 14, 2024. He was born in Benton, Arkansas on October 11, 1944 to Morris Walton James, Sr. and Kathleen (Rowland) James.

Morris led a remarkable life full of diverse experiences and unwavering dedication. After serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he transitioned into a successful career as a superintendent in commercial building. He also shared his wisdom and humor as a school bus driver for Evening Shade, where he would famously remind students that "riding a bus is a privilege!"

Outside of work, Morris found true joy in riding his motorcycle. He embraced the freedom of the open road and embarked on countless adventures across Canada and the United States, with his beloved wife Barbara by his side on many journeys. One memorable trip included traversing the Pacific coastline all the way to Alaska, embodying his adventurous spirit and love for exploration.

Morris will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his loving wife Barbara James; children:  Aaron Uhde (Bridgette), Anna Morrow (Jeffery), Alison Griffino (Michael), Amanda Gregory (Justin), and Clint James (Erin); grandchildren: Peyton, Lauren (Jacob), Ryan (Melanie), Qwa, Ella, Jack, Ben, Bailey, Aidan, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Madelyn; great-grandson Cal; special niece Whitney; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who cherished him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Walton James, Sr. and Kathleen (Rowland) James; sister, Carrie Pelton; and son, Todd James.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 21, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.

Morris Walton James, Jr.'s legacy of adventure, dedication to family, and witty charm will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
