Morris Ward Willis

Morris Ward Willis, age 85 of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away peacefully in his
home on Monday, March 18, 2024, under the loving care of his wife of 58 years, Linda,
and his daughter-in-law. Morris was born on June 19, 1938. He grew up in Mendenhall,
Mississippi.
Morris graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil
engineering. He worked for the Corps of Engineers in Little Rock for 32 years before
retiring in 1993. Upon retirement, Morris and his wife Linda moved to Hot Springs,
Arkansas to enjoy lake life on beautiful Lake Hamilton.
When Morris and his wife weren’t traveling in their motorhome, camping, or riding four-
wheelers together, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood.
Morris was an active member of Centerfork Baptist Church in Hot Springs. He enjoyed
spending time at home and with his family.
Morris is survived by his loving wife Linda Lee Willis whom he married on September
11, 1965, his son Morris “David” Willis and daughter-in-law, Angel Willis of Hot Springs,
grandsons Morris “Branson” Willis, and Carson Blade Willis, step-grandson, Austin Ray
Lenaburg of Carrollton, TX, brother, Donald Jo Willis of Broken Arrow, OK, and cousin,
Kathrine Martin of NY.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Morris Sherman Willis and Mother, Mary
Lou.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Morris’ loving Hospice Home
