Mr. Elmer Platt,

July 23, 1957 — August 26, 2011

Mr. Elmer Platt,

Elmer Augustus Platt, Jr., known by all who loved him as "Gus", was 54 years old when he departed this life at Springhill Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 26, 2011 from health related complications.
Gus, born on July 23, 1957 in Batesville, Arkansas, was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Augustus Platt, Sr. and his brother, James Stephen "Stevie" Platt.
Gus lived an adventurous life even though it was cut short. He was a great friend and wonderful brother. Generous by nature, Gus lived a simple life. He was a graduate of Ole Main High School class of 1975. After high school, he began to wait tables in local restaurants. A resident of North Little Rock, he grew to be very respected in the restaurant community where, to most of his customers, he was referred to as friend.
One of Gus' unique features was his ability to remember things such as taking an order for a table of 8 and being able to recall the tiniest of detail with no paper or pen. He was extremely intellectual and had a great sense of humor. Gus had a love for animals, especially his dog and beloved companion "Yum Yum."
No one ever thought that his life would end so soon, but God had his own special plan for Gus, and we are certain that he is now with our creator. Gus was a special person and he will be truly missed. He will be in our hearts forever!
Gus is survived by his mother, JoAnn Reaves Platt, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, David Platt and wife, Pam Platt, of Keller, Texas; brother, Eddie Platt, of Maumelle, Arkansas, and his two sons, Nicholas Platt and Alex Platt; brother, John Davidson and wife, Debbie Davidson, of North Little Rock; brother, Charlie Platt and his wife, Shelley Platt and three girls, Macy Coffee, Tyler Platt, and Amanda Platt; daughter Melissa Platt; nieces, Amy Platt and Ashley Platt Mlay.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
