Sandy L. Sanders, 65, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. He attended First United Methodist Church and Lakewood Methodist Church in North Little Rock. He was a retired Sales Representative and a founding member of the Non-profit Organization, Friends of Recovery.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gale Endsley Sanders; daughters, Cindy Richardson and husband, Bobby and Carmen Smith and husband, Lance, all of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Christina Williams and Marlee Richardson; mother, Joyce Sanders; brother, Gill Sanders, both of Alpena; sister, Nancy Williams, of Goodlettesville, Tennessee; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Judson Lee Sanders and his father, Ike Sanders.
Sandy was a special man who will be greatly missed by all of the lives that he touched. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and Staff at the Arkansas Heart Hospital.
Memorials may be made to Friends of Recovery, 614 Center Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
