The family of Johnny Lou Golden would like to thank you for honoring her memory by being here today.
Johnny Golden, age 88 of North Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2022. She was born on Feb. 8, 1933 and was the daughter of Jess and Marie Bates.
Johnny retired from Kmart and attended church at Lynch Drive Assembly of God. She always made sure her kids where at church every time the doors were open. She loved spending time outdoors working in the yard and gardening. She also enjoyed playing the Oregon and singing gospel and country songs. If you came to visit then you were going to sing with her while she played one of her many instruments. Branson was her all-time favorite place to visit and shop. She loved going and just walking around. Her grandkids were her world and she spoiled them rotten and spent as much time with them as she could. Give her a chocolate candy bar and a coke and she was happy. She was loved by so many people and was the sweetest and kindest person you ever met. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Marie Bates; two sisters, Fern Floyd and Jessie Pruss; three brothers, Bill Bates, Joe Bates and Paul Bates. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmie Golden; son, Brian Golden (Vickie); daughter, Kim Shaw (Terry); and her granddaughters, Madison Shaw and Megan Golden Bostwick; and grandson, Spencer Golden.
Visitation will be 10:00AM, Friday, January 21, 2022 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a funeral service following at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Hunter Hill Cemetery in Clinton.
