Myrli Louise Johnson

Myrli Louise Johnson (Norfleet), born March 20, 1938, daughter of Leroy and Lois Norfleet, passed away from this life on July 26, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Trudy Wimberly all of Washington State; her husband of 50 years, Albert Sr.; two sons, Albert Jr. and Leroy of Jacksonville; and great-grandchild Alexia. 

Myrli is survived by her daughter, Marguerite Umholtz of Jacksonville; sister Alene Henning of Sitka, Alaska; grandchildren, Kimberley Carter of Sherwood, Alana Anderson of Tucson, Arizona, Jennifer Larkan of Sherwood, Amanda Johnson of Gravel Ridge, Mayra Webb of Georgia, and Raymond Johnson of Jacksonville. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandson.

In Myrli’s younger years, she was involved in training and showing her Australian Shepherds. She was the head cook at Camp Storey Girl Scout camp in Hot Springs. As her grandchildren started school she worked in the school cafeteria.

Her favorite hobby was sewing and making quilts for her family. She enjoyed involving her grandkids and great-grandkids in her quilt-making.

She also volunteered at the soup kitchen in the Kellogg Acres area.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
