Myrtle Lou Gatlin (Granny), 93, of Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 30, 2024. She was a retired beautician that owned Myrt’s Beauty Shop in Little Rock. She enjoyed painting ceramics with her daughter, crocheting, cooking fresh from Pa’s garden, reading her bible, and spending time with her son, grandchildren, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Tommy Gatlin (Tom-Cat), daughter, Vanda Johnson, parents, Mary Frances Myrtle Ann Fronia Perry and Willie Francis Smith, all of her younger siblings, Leroy Smith, George Smith (Winston), Shirley Kocsis, Carolyn Puckett, Joyce Williams, Linda Kaye Hostetter, & Larry Smith. She is survived by her son, Tommy Gary Gatlin (Kim), son-in-law, Douglas Johnson, 6 grandchildren, Donnae McFadin (Steve), Tonya Britton (Paul), LeAnne Nugent (Brandon), Kimberly Gatlin (Tim), Brock Sempsrott (Anna), Coltan Gatlin (Kenli), 16 great grandchildren, Brandon Vocque, Josh McFadin (Britianie), Taylore McFadin (Chris), Paul Douglas Britton, Christopher McFadin, Pierce Britton, Alyssa Nugent, Jace Gatlin, Maddie Nugent, Adyn Sempsrott, Jaxxon Clark, Sophia Sempsrott, Paisley Sempsrott, Phoebe Sempsrott, Lincoln Sempsrott & Jaylee Hines, 5 great-great grandchildren, Bailey Vocque, Bentley Styers, Brayden Styers, Brooklyn Styers, & Lilly McFadin, 22 nieces and nephews, a crew of great nieces and nephews, & many friends. 

Myrt was a beautiful lady that loved her family with all her heart. She had class, style, a strong faith in the Lord, & made the best sweet tea in town. Her country cookin’ was untouchable. She never met a stranger and made all feel welcome & accepted. Everyone that met her loved, admired, & looked up to her!! She was married to the love of her life for 68 years. She was the queen of the Family. She will be deeply missed. We love you Granny!!! 

The visitation will be Monday, June 10 at 10:30 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM service at the Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court, Little Rock, AR 72205. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR 72120.
