Nancy Jo Spragins Scott died Thursday, January 5, 2023. Nancy was born April 26, 1933, daughter of Joel H. and Hallie V. Spragins. She attended Little Rock public schools, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1951.  She attended Texas Women’s University and the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Chi Omega.

In 1957 Nancy married Wade H. Scott, Jr. She was active in PTA and was President of the Little Rock PTA Council. Nancy attended Bible Study Fellowship where she was a small group leader, and served as children’s chairman for the Little Rock day class. A member of Fellowship Bible Church, she served in First Touch Ministry and as a leader of a small group in women’s Bible study. Nancy was a volunteer at Curran Hall Visitor Information Center, and she and her husband were foster parents for Bethany Christian Services Adoption Agency.

One of the greatest joys of her life was being “Nana” to her grandchildren whom she adored and for whom she  prayed fervently; George, Emma Johnson (Jeremiah), Clara, Gil, Bailey Rhodes (John), Leah, David Hampton and Hannah.

Nancy is survived by three sons, Wade H. Scott III (Carol), Joel V. Scott (Deanna), both of Little Rock, and David E. Scott (Sydney) of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren; one sister, Hallie Jane Simmins of Little Rock; and two nieces, Hallie Rookey (Craig) and Helen McMillin (Rob), both of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wade H. Scott, Jr., and a sister, Mary Lou Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Friday January 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Fellowship Bible Church chapel, 1401 Kirk Rd, Little Rock.
