Nelda Cogburn Alexander

Nelda Cogburn Alexander, age 82, of Norman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

She was born on March 26, 1942, the daughter of Glen William Cogburn, Sr. and Mary Florean Brunt Cogburn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Alexander; her sister, Fredia Jones; and her nephews, Randy Cogburn, Jeffery Cogburn, Aaron Lovelace, and Mark Alan Cogburn, Jr.

Nelda's life revolved around caring for others, whether that be her family, her church, or her community. She ran errands for homebound friends, brought meals, spent quality time just being available for those who might need help. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where she loved working with children. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nelda is survived by her two brothers and sister-in-law, Jim Cogburn of Norman and Glen and Nancy Cogburn of Visalia, California; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Danny Price of Clinton, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Bro. James "Cub" Black and Jeremy Graves officiating at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Visitation will be held before services at 1:00 PM.

Interment will be held at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Jared Price, Jason Price, Todd Price, John McRae, Steven Scott, Jeffrey Scott, Zack Powell, Seth Powell, and Hayden Powell.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Cogburn, Chris Cogburn, Adam Cogburn, Jeremy Graves, and Tyler Graves.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations to be made to Mt. Gilead Cemetery Committee in Black Springs, Arkansas.
