Nelda Kay Hicks Harwell

Nelda Kay Hicks Harwell, 72, of Austin was born May 5, 1953, to Kenneth and Margie Lee Hicks. She was called home to heaven on April 6, 2026. Nelda was a member of Destiny Cowboy Church and affectionately known as “Trouble.” For years, she played the organ at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Duffie Gibson; and brothers, J.L. and J. Randy Hicks.

Nelda is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clarence Harwell; son, Patrick and Terri Harwell; daughter, Sarah Harwell; grandsons Robbie Harwell and Kaleb May; granddaughter Taylor Harwell; and great grandchildren; brother Bennie and Lyn Hicks; and brother-in-law Kenneth Gibson. She will be missed by her many nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Visitation will be at Destiny Cowboy Church (97 Burton Road, Austin) from 10-11 AM with funeral to follow at 11 AM on April 11, 2026. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Please send memorials to Destiny Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 3, Cabot, Arkansas 72023.
