Nettie Brummett

Nettie Sue Brummett 77, passed away on November 24, 2017. She was born in Stuttgart, AR to Neva and Gaylon Miller.
She is a graduate of Hendrix College and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education. After teaching in Morrilton and Arizona, she began a long career as a Social Studies/Civics teacher and administrator in the North Little Rock School District. Ms. Brummett loved her job and her students. She was committed to seeing her students succeed academically, but was also determined to help them overcome personal challenges as well. After retirement she remained active in her community volunteering for the North Little Rock Police Department, attending the NLR Citizens Police and Fire Academies, and working elections for several years in Pulaski County. She loved to travel and spent many summers traveling the United States to visit significant historical sites. She attended Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church until illness prevented her from attending.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter. Survivors include her daughters Lisa (Kevin) and Lee (Glenn) as well as five grandchildren: Zachary, Anthony, Donavon, Jessica, and Lane. She is also survived by her Brother Eugene, his wife Meg, a niece, a nephew and Carl whom she loved as a son.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Elmcroft of Maumelle and Kindred Hospice for their loving care of our mother and grandmother during her illness.
Memorials may be made to the Gardner Memorial United Methodist Food Pantry.
