Nettie Orients

Nettie Jean Orients, 76, of Little Rock, passed away July 23, 2020. She was born in Biscoe, Arkansas to John Minor, Sr. and Berda Redman, raised by Blancha Scipho and John Bell, and worked for Borden Dairy until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Malous Abu Hassan; daughter, Calissa Mattin (Michael) of North Little Rock; son, Kenneth Adams (Ronda) of Little Rock; sisters, Deloris Johnson and Lillie Mae Scipho Garman; brothers, Hershel Minor, George Minor, and John Scipho; eleven grandchildren, Lakesha McLaurin (Garett), Shala Cottrell (Toryn), Michael Adams, Shawn Mattin, Ivory Mattin, Kendall Mattin, Jerome Jones, Kenneth Williams (Taquilla), Kenneth Anderson, Kentoya Adams and Kendrell Humphrey; eight great-grandchildren; special nieces, Jacqueline Little, Kathy Patterson, and Chakita Scipho; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at the Islamic Center of Little Rock, followed by burial at Harris Cemetery in Biscoe. Please observe Covid-19 guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing.
