Nolan Douglas Nixon, age 92 of Curtis died Saturday, May 6, 2006. He was born March 13, 1914 in Palo Pinto, TX the son of the late Robert and Katie Hale Nixon. He was an employee for 33 years with Shell Oil Co. He was preceded by one sister, and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife with whom he shared a loving marriage of 70 years, Berna Dean Nixon; one son, Douglas Nixon and wife, Nancy of Scottsdale, AZ; one daughter, Nina Acrey of Curtis; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Charles Hargett officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roger Nixon, David Nixon, Clinton Word, Eric Allen, Andrew Ploeger and James Boyce.
