Nona Long, age 88, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2021.
She was born on January 1, 1933, in New Hope, the daughter of Elbert Smith and Eda Davis Smith. She was preceded in death by husband, Dwight Long; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Nona was a member of Mountain Pine Church of Christ, but most recently she attended National Park Church of Christ with her daughter. She enjoyed baking, reading and was eager to help others. She made the best chicken and dressing and we all looked forward to holidays to get to enjoy some. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Kellon Hightower of Hot Springs and Tammy and Lonny Goodwin of Saratoga; three grandchildren, Woodrow Hightower of Hot Springs, Partheny (Chris) Flocken of Conway, and Loni Anne (Chris) Taylor of College Station, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Adeline Taylor and Asher Taylor; numerous nieces, nephew, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2021, in the Grants Chapel Cemetery with Roger Maddox officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
