Norma Dee Hughes Bass age 82, of Arkadelphia formerly of Magnolia, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in Arkadelphia. She was born December 13, 1931, one of eighteen children, to James Hardy and Dovie Dee Davis Hughes.
Norma was a member of College View Baptist Church in Magnolia and was a sales associate with Polk's Furniture Co. in Magnolia for many years. She enjoyed her many friends and customers, her family and her pet, Chihuahua, "Joy".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forney H. Bass on August 4, 2009.
Survivors are two daughters, Sharon Fowler and husband, Bill of Arkadelphia, Marcia Storment and husband, Mike of Dardanelle, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jill Bobo and husband, Mitch, Terri Cross and husband, Bracy, Nathan Gleghorn and wife, Angie, Aaron Thornton and Kyle Thornton; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Bee Ogle of Magnolia; three brothers, Andy Hughes and Charles Hughes both of Arkadelphia and Floyd Hughes of Michigan.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2nd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Mike Silvey officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery at Joan. Visitation will 1:00 PM Tuesday until service time. Pallbearers will be Nathan Gleghorn, Aaron Thornton, Kyle Thornton, Mitch Bobo and Bracy Cross. Honorary pallbearer will be Delmer Tripp.
Memorials may be made to her beloved College View Baptist Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
