Norma Wooldridge

Norma Louise Wooldridge, 88, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, July 11th 2017. Many knew her as "Dah". She was a special, wonderful lady who loved and cared for all. She was born August 25, 1928 in Cave City to the late Olaf and Orilla Pinkston. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S Wooldridge and survived by her children, Terry and his wife Elaine of Jacksonville, FL, Jerry and his wife Jonna of Orlando, FL, and Sheila Parker and her husband Richard of Sherwood. She has four beloved granddaughters, Erin Black, Lacy Blackburn, Katie Parker and Karla Wooldridge, their husbands Kelly Black and Dustin Blackburn and two great-granddaughters, Ella Wooldridge and Harper Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Pinkston, and leaves behind her sisters, Jan Freeman and Loreta Sites along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and her surly cat, Fluffy.
Norma came from a very musical family. Both parents played and taught multiple instruments and were founding members of the Arkansas Traveler Folk Theater in Hardy, Arkansas. Norma and her sisters, Janna Lou and Rete, the three Pinkston sisters, harmonized in the style of the Andrew Sisters and performed around the community. They were so popular in fact that at the White River Water Carnival one year they beat out a young up and coming entertainer by the name of Elvis (Presley).
Norma's passion was helping special needs children and that's how she spent her career as a teacher's aide in Newport and at Baring Cross School in North Little Rock. She adored children and was everyone's mother and grandmother.
