Norman H. "Bobby" Kingrey, age 76, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 in Little Rock. Mr. Kingrey, the youngest child of the late Granville and Ellie Digby Kingrey was born Feb. 15, 1930 in Dalark. He was raised in Arkadelphia where he graduated from high school in 1949. He married Hope Lee in 1949. Mr Kingrey worked as the produce manager at Kroger for over fifty years and when he retired the employees presented him with a dachshund. Norman affectionately named the dog "Barney" after the founder of Kroger and continued to work part time. Mr. Kingrey served his country for many years as a proud member of the Arkansas National Guard and was a Protestant. He enjoyed hunting, sports(especially the Razorbacks), gardening and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and thoroughly enjoyed family reunions and celebrations and opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. Mr. Kingrey was lovingly called Norman, Bobby, Daddy, Pepaw and Paw Paw by his family and friends. His family will always remember fondly his wonderful sarcastic, dry sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Hope Amber Lee Kingrey of Little Rock; two daughters, Rebecca Lee "Becky" Howard and her husband, Billy of North Little Rock and Pamela Marie Paz and her husband, Armando of Little Rock; two sisters, Lorene Baker of Arkadelphia, and Nellie Huneycutt and husband, Terrell of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Chris DuJardin and wife, Michelle, Brandy Beavers, Billy Mac Howard, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Jamie Deason and husband, Jared and Brett Howard and wife, Julie, five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Blake, Hayes, Callee, and Cole; many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Faith United Methdoist Church, 9820 West Markham, Little Rock, AR. Pallbearers will be Chris DuJardin, Billy Mac Howard, Jr., Brett Howard, Cecil Kingrey, Clyde Kingery, Jared Deason, Joe Benfer and Garrett Hammons.
