Obed Jackson Ray, 86, of Sherwood passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. He served in the United States Navy during Korean War and was a member of Smokey Lane Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Roper Ray; two daughters, Shareta Peoples (Randy), Angela Humphries (Gary); son, Bert Garcia (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Austin, James, Sheila, Vicki, Ronnie, Sara and Phillip; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Norman, Marvin and Fred Ray. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Docile Ray; and his sister, Lenita Fay Brothers.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Smokey Lane Apostolic Church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
