J.A. “Mr. Lu” Luzader, 89, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away October 23, 2019. He was born December 14, 1929 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Alvin and Hazel Luzader.
Mr. Lu proudly served in the United States Navy and retired after twenty-three years as Chief Petty Officer, serving both in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Bremerton in communications and electronics, the USS Bon Homme Richard in medical research, the USS Edmonds, USS Hector, and the USS John S. McCain. He received numerous awards and commendations for his service. Mr. Lu was an active member of the local VFW and the American Legion. He was adamant about helping veterans. He had a kind heart and would help both people and animals.
Mr. Lu is survived by his son, Gary Lee Luzader of Hawaii; daughter, Sonia Marie Luzader of Little Rock, Arkansas; close family friends, Mike and Debbie Ross and their granddaughter, Katie Fox; as well as many veterans whom he considered family.
Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 AM, Monday, October 28 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home with funeral service following at 11:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be conducted at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
