Mark Strother age 100, of Donaldson, AR. passed away October 5, 2019. A United States Naval Veteran of WWII. Mark, a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon and song leader for years. Mark was a cattle rancher who also worked for Reynolds Metal in Gum Springs and the Clark County Human Development Center in Caddo Valley and was well known for his incredible skills in checkers and bean bag baseball at the Senior Citizen’s Center.
Born on June 27, 1919 in Arkadelphia to the late Benjamin F. and Blanche (Jones) Strother. Mark in preceded in death by his parents, two wives; Katherine (Taylor) Strother and Marion (Deaton) Strother, five brothers and one sister. Left to share in memories are his loving daughter Melba (Curtis) Robinson of Friendship; three grandchildren; Charles (Sherri) Robinson, Katherine (Kris Minta) Robinson and Kristy (Jason) Braswell, six great-grandchildren; Regan, Emily, Nate, Colton, Kinley, and Florie.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Bosely officiating. Interment will be held at Richwoods Cemetery.
