Pamela Rhea Rush (Stiles), 70, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, died January 1, 2020. She was born on May 27, 1949 in Tampa to the late Delmon and Eunice Stiles.
As a civilian employee of the United States Air Force for most of her adult life, Pam -- a lover of travel and different cultures -- lived and worked in Guam, Italy, Libya and Germany before returning to the U.S. and working at the Little Rock Air Force Base until she retired in 2012.
Pam was well known as a fantastic cook, using entire recipes or simply incorporating various ingredients, spices and methods she picked up during her worldwide travels.
She worked tirelessly advancing animal rights through a variety of organizations and donated thousands of dollars during her life to help protect animals from abuse and cruelty. In addition, she spent time volunteering at the North Little Rock Veterans Administration Hospital.
She is survived by her son and son-in-law, Jonathan and Allen Loibner-Waitkus of Benton, Arkansas; brother, David Stiles of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nephew, Gary Markman Jr. of Albion, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Markman, and niece, Cynthia Beatty, both of Albion, Illinois.
Should friends so desire, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (C.A.R.E.) or the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
