Ola Gundy

Ola Amanda Gundy, 95, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday,
January 12, 2013. She was born June 8, 1917 in Waterloo, Alabama to Thomas Jeff and Hattie Haynes Higgins. She moved to Arkansas at the age of 3. She married Duke, May 31, 1952. They had a good and happy marriage for 40 years and 20 days. He went to be with our Lord May 11, 1992 and now Ola joins him. They knew in whom they believed and were prepared for their day. Their constant prayer was that their children and grandchildren, loved ones and friends will meet them there. Ola was a member of the Church of Christ since the age of 17 and that is where she and Duke celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Carrington; step-son Ted Gundy , grandchildren; Steve (Tina) Carrington, Deidre Burress, Rusty Carrington, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and sister, June (Lee) Snyder of Beebe, Arkansas, nieces, nephews and friends.
She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, traveling and just being a wife and grandmother. "I give thanks to God for family, friends and His serving Grace, Forever and Ever."
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
