Opal Sue Lou House

Opal Sue Lou House, age 90, of Amity, passed away on February 16, 2024. She was born August 19, 1933, in Bonnerdale, Arkansas to Dennis and Ovie (Yarbrough) House. 

Other than her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Hemund and Barbara Halcombe; daughter-in-law, Tressa Johnson; granddaughter, Misty Halcombe; brothers, JC, Don, Lester, DJ and Arthur House; and sisters, Bessie Burnott Ashley and Shirley Wilson.

Loving survivors include her son, Dennis Johnson; brothers, Edward (Lillian) House and Jimmie (Carolyn) House; grandchildren, Wanda (Ted) Tigue, Clara (Charlie) Sellers, Ronnie (Alicia) Wilson, Micah (Ashley) Halcombe, David (Gene) Halcombe, Julianna (Paul) Irving and Matthew Johnson; great-grandchildren, Blake (Lexi) Tigue, Troy Tigue, Tiffany (Eric) Jackson, Heath Sams, Samantha (Daniel) Hill, Dustin Sams, Clarissa (Lane R.) Sams, Mayla Wilson, Kimey Wilson, Makinzie Irving, PJ Irving, Tristen Halcombe, Tad Green, Haygen Halcombe, and Cole Halcombe; seven great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, a host of wonderful friends, and her amazing nurses, Michelle Duggan and Treya Aragundy. 

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood. 

A celebration of Opal’s life will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood. 

Burial will follow at Lodi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ted Tigue, Blake Tigue, Troy Tigue, Daniel Henthorne, Donnie Yarbrough and Eric Jackson. 

Honorary Pallbearers are Opal’s granddaughters.
