Orlander Burnley, Sr., 88, of Little Rock, passed away February 10, 2010. Born September 28, 1921 in Carroll County, Mississippi to Fred and Ellou Burnley, he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and worked as a shipping and receiving clerk at Hollis & Company for many years. He was a deacon at the Church of the Living God.
He is survived by his children, Orlander Burnley, Jr. (Crystal) of No. Little Rock, Roy Gene Burnley and Kaye Hairston (Richard), both of Little Rock, Aaron Burnley (Mary) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michael Earl Burnley (Cynthia) of Columbus, Ohio, Cedric Fells, Michelle Mitchell, Markita George (Arthur) and Anita Burnley, all of Little Rock. Also surviving are his sister and brothers, Modene Fields of Inglewood, California, Earl L. Burnley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Fred Burnley, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, Percy Burnley of Los Angeles, California and Elston Burnley of Culver City, California; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David Burnley, sister, Tresser Lee Burnley and brothers, Ira and Curtis Burnley.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by burial at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, February 16 from 6-8 p.m.
